  1. An opinion poll is an attempt to measure 
  2. public opinion by taking a survey of the 
  3. views of a representative sample of the 
  4. electorate, the science of opinion sampling 
  5. is called psephology. Most standard polls 
  6. take random samples of around a thousand 
  7. voters which gives results that should be 
  8. accurate to within three percentage points, 
  9. 95% of the time.
